The University CIO and Information Technology have started a phishing campaign to provide awareness on how to determine if an email is a phishing attempt. Phishing templates are used to educate faculty, staff, and students on what to look for before opening email documents or clicking on links. Once a month, the campus will be tested. We are always looking for better ways to protect the UND campus from phishing attacks.
The University CIO and Information Technology, together with GreyCastle Security, recently offered training sessions to the university community on cybersecurity. The purpose of this event was to bring awareness of the many threats in the cyber world today, and to help educate people on how to protect their accounts and information. Our faculty, staff, and students experience hundreds of threats daily, including phishing attacks and social engineering attempts. Although, UIT has incorporated several tools to help prevent these threats, such as Duo, Phish Notify, and Liquid Files, education is an important part of the process in keeping your accounts and information protected.
