Biography
Amber Lyon-Colbert is an assistant professor in the Master of Public Health (MPH) Program at the UND School of Medicine & Health Sciences (SMHS). In this role, Amber will be teaching courses in the health management and policy specialization including environmental health. Amber graduated with a bachelor’s degree in health sciences from California State University, East Bay in 2012. She earned a master’s degree in biology from California State University, East Bay in 2014, and graduated from Oregon State University with a Ph.D. in public health specializing in environmental and occupational health in 2018. Amber has a background in environmental microbiology and her current research focuses on rural drinking water quality and health outcomes. She has recently been voted in as a governing council member to the North Dakota Public Health Association as section chair in environmental health and emergency preparedness.
