Biography
Bret J. Fossum is a Principal Research Engineer at the EERC, where he works on EERC project teams as a geoscientist to improve the development and production of domestic energy through application of geological engineering and geoscience principles. He supports characterization, planning, design, costing, and reporting efforts related to storage of CO2 and other gases in geologic formations and exploration, appraisal, and development of resources in conventional and unconventional oil and gas plays. Mr. Fossum holds a B.S. degree in Geological Engineering (Petroleum Engineering option) from UND and is a Licensed Professional Geologist in the state of Texas and an American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) Certified Petroleum Geologist.
Mr. Fossum’s principal areas of interest and expertise include petroleum geology, geology, geomechanics, conventional and unconventional systems, GIS, well evaluation program design, renewable energy, project management, and leadership/mentorship. He is a member of the Texas Board of Professional Geoscientists, AAPG, Houston Geological Society and is a Commissioner for the Harris County Emergency Services District No. 48 in Houston TX.
