Biography
Caitlin M. Olsen, a Principal Policy and Regulatory Strategist at the EERC, works with project teams and EERC clients to inform strategies and implement solutions that enable prudent production and use of fossil energy and reduce the carbon intensity of energy production; and develops, communicates, and informs sound regulation, policy, guidelines, standards development, and technical and business strategies. Olsen holds a B.S. degree in Geology from the University of Wisconsin – River Falls. Previously, Olsen served as a Senior Regulatory and Permitting Specialist at the EERC and before that, a Production and Measurement Supervisor at the North Dakota Department of Mineral Resources – Oil and Gas Division, Bismarck, North Dakota.
Olsen’s principal areas of interest and expertise include regulatory compliance; geologic carbon capture, utilization, and storage; power generation; emissions reduction; and renewable energy systems. In addition, Olsen has experience in the areas of project management, data analysis, staff supervision and development, and safety audits.
