Cesar Barajas-Olalde

Biography

Dr. César Barajas-Olalde is a Principal Geophysicist at the EERC, where he develops geophysical models of the subsurface, performs advanced interpretations of a variety of geophysical data sets, performs petrophysical analyses of geophysical data, assists in the preparation of technical reports, and interfaces with a diverse team of scientists and engineers to assess project uncertainties in oil and gas development and geologic CO2 storage. He holds a Ph.D. degree in Geophysics from the University of Kiel, Germany; an M.S. degree in Applied Geophysics from Ensenada Center for Scientific Research and Higher Education, Mexico; and a B.S. degree in Geophysical Engineering from the Technological Institute of Ciudad Madero, Mexico.

Dr. Barajas-Olalde’s principal areas of interest and expertise include the use of geophysical methods for exploration and monitoring of petroleum reservoirs and CO2 storage, geophysical data acquisition and processing, modeling, algorithm development, and handling of large seismic data sets.
