Biography
I have been at UND for approximately 10 years now, and in that time my teaching experience has focused primarily on non-major's biology (Concepts of Biology or Biol 111 and the associated lab), introductory biology (both Biol 150 and 151, or General Bio I and II), and working with our undergraduate teaching assistants. I teach these courses both on campus and online. I have also worked with the College of Education to help with their Introduction to Education course (T&L 250), and Models of Teaching (T&L 542), as well with a number of student teachers during their time out in the local high schools, and the Honors Department to teach an advanced colloquium on Translational Biology (Hon 393). My research has two main arms, one focused on SoTL (Scholarship of Teaching and Learning) and the other on biological conservation, where I have been fortunate enough to collaborate extensively with my wife, who is also here at UND.
