Biography
Dr. Christopher Martin is a Principal Engineer in Advanced Thermal Systems at the EERC, where he manages and contributes to current projects in environmentally compatible power generation and develops new project areas for the EERC. Dr. Martin’s areas of expertise include thermal energy conversion, utilization, and system analysis; mitigation of environmental effects from power generation including air emissions from combustion and gasification systems; and minimizing water use within energy conversion processes. He has been the principal investigator on multiple projects on the hygroscopic cooling concept and has an active portfolio of energy–water projects. He holds a Ph.D. and an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Florida, Gainesville, and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of North Carolina, Charlotte.
