Biography
I’m Diego Fregolent Mendes de Oliveira, an Assistant Professor at the University of North Dakota in the School of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science. My research explores the interplay between people and computing systems, focusing on information propagation, integrity in cyberspace, and trust in social computing systems. I also investigate Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) in science, with a focus on gender disparities in academia. My expertise includes complex network systems, machine learning, agent-based modeling, and chaos theory.
Before joining UND, I held postdoctoral positions at the University of Maryland, The Statistical and Applied Mathematical Sciences Institute, the University of North Carolina, and Northwestern University, and worked as a Research Scientist at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and the Army Research Lab.
