Dinesh Bande

Biography

Dinesh Bande, M.D., M.B.A., FACP, is a Clinical Professor of Internal Medicine, Chair of Internal Medicine, and Associate Dean for Academic and Clinical Integration at University of North Dakota School of Medicine & Health Sciences. He graduated from Kurnool Medical College, completed residency training at UND Internal Medicine residency program, and received his Healthcare MBA from University of St. Thomas in Minneapolis. He started as a Hospitalist at Sanford Health in 2011. His current roles are Hospitalist and Physician Advisor in Utilization Management. He was the UND Statewide Internal Medicine Clerkship Director from 2015-2017 and has been serving as Chair of the department since October 2017. In this role, Dr. Bande oversees undergraduate medical education, graduate medical education (residencies and fellowships), clinical care, research, and other administrative functions of the Department of Internal Medicine in collaboration with multiple teaching hospitals. He currently serves as Chair Elect of Faculty Academic Council advising UND School of Medicine & Health Sciences.

Dr. Bande is the Governor Elect of the North Dakota Chapter of American College of Physicians. He is a Board Member of Graduate Business Alumni Board at the unit of St. Thomas Opus College of Business. He is an Advisory Board Member for Project IMG Council. He served as Vice President and is a founding member of the North Dakota Chapter Society of Hospital Medicine.

Dr. Bande is enthusiastic about teaching medicine. He has been a mentor to many medical students and residents. He is active in getting medical students and residents involved in local, regional, and national opportunities in scholarship. He has contributed to over 50 poster presentations and has over 20 peer-reviewed publications.
