Biography
Dongmei Wang is an Associate Professor and a member of the Graduate Faculty in the Harold Hamm School of Geology and Geological Engineering at the University of North Dakota (UND). She received her Ph.D. and master’s degrees in Oil & Gas Reservoir Engineering from the RIPED/China in 2007 and 2001, respectively, and her B.S. in Computer Science from the Daqing Petroleum Institute in 1987. Dongmei’s expertise is focused on the Enhanced Oil Recovery from conventional and unconventional oil and gas resources, as well economic evaluation in EOR. She had more than twenty years’ experience in 40 projects case design in reservoir engineering, production, and reservoir simulation in PetroChina before she joined the University of North Dakota. There, Dongmei played a key role in what is, by far, the largest Enhanced Oil Recovery application in the world. Dongmei established document/procedure manual for the design of polymer floods throughout China and holds a China patent. She held a number of awards for outstanding achievement in implementing new concepts and developing innovative field applications for enhanced oil recovery processes at Daqing, Petrochina. Since 2009, she has been PIs for multiple research projects funded by DOE, DOE/RPSEA, ND EPSCoR, NDIC, and industries related Enhanced Oil Recovery from tight rocks from Williston Basin, D-J Basin, Eagle Ford, Heavy Oil in Alaska, geothermal sweep efficiency improvement studies, and CO-PIs for other research projects including using chemical to remove oils from contaminated soils and Oceanside muds. She has published more than 50 papers in journals and conferences.
