Dr. Shellie Beeker

Biography

Shellie began her employment at the University of North Dakota Counseling Center in 2018.  Shellie graduated from  NDSU with a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision and Appalachian State University with a MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with post-graduate certificates in Expressive Arts Therapy and Addictions Counseling.  Shellie is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, Supevisor and a Board Certified-TeleMental Health Provider. She can offer services to students in North Dakota (LPCC-S), Minnesota (LPC) and Colorado (LPC).

I have a passion for empowering people to connect with and move toward living their fullest life. This can mean exploring, identifying and wrestling with any obstacles that may be preventing this such as stress, depression, anxiety, relational distress and/or trauma. It can also mean finding and practicing ways to live more authentically.  My approach integrates a number of frameworks including EMDR, resiliency, expressive arts therapy and more based on your unique needs. I am committed to working with and supporting people of color, folks in the LGBTQIA community and anyone impacted by oppression. I want you to feel comfortable bringing all parts of who you are to counseling.
