Biography
Fazilatun N. Mahmood is a Geoscientist at the EERC, where she interfaces with a diverse team of scientists and engineers to assess project uncertainties in oil and gas development and geologic storage. develops and oversees the development of geophysical models of the subsurface and performs regional geological characterization and petrophysical analyses of geophysical well log data. Her work currently involves testing and application of NRAP tools (Open-IAM and DREAM) and geochemical modeling of confining zones of the CO2 storage sites. Ms. Mahmood holds an M.S. degree in Geology from the University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon and a B.S. degree in Geology from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. Prior to joining the EERC, she was a Research/Teaching Assistant in the Department of Geology & Geological Engineering at UND.
Ms. Mahmood’s principal areas of interest and expertise include geochemistry, hydrogeology, and geocellular and geochemical modeling. She is a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists and has coauthored numerous professional publications.
