Biography
Hyeonchang Gim is an Assistant Professor of Communication at the University of North Dakota. He is an intergroup communication scholar working at the interface of mediated and interpersonal communication. He is interested in understanding how messages influence people's attitudes toward various social groups, including ethnic and cultural groups. His research explores various forms of communication (e.g., music, communication technology) with the objective of enhancing our understanding of how the contemporary communication landscape affects interpersonal and intergroup relationships. His research has appeared in Communication Monographs, Media Psychology, Journal of Media Psychology, and Communication Research Reports among others.
