Biography

Jared Altepeter is a Senior Cybersecurity Analyst at the EERC, where he implements, manages, and monitors security products and technologies; provides input toward the strategy on malware detection, network security, forensics, date protection, logging and monitoring; maintains Azure/Microsoft365 Cloud security and recommends security policies and best practices; performs risk assessments and audits of data processing systems; monitors logs and review alerts while identifying, remediating, and escalating incidents that may occur; develops and maintains technical documentation around the discovery and mitigation of threats and vulnerabilities; reviews current security system configurations for correctness; monitors, reports, and investigates access to determine unauthorized access attempts; provides continuous testing of systems for situations requiring corrective action; assists with internal security awareness testing and training; and trains and educates staff on information security policies and procedures.
