Biography
Dr. Ryan holds a PhD in special education, severe disabilities emphasis, from the University of Utah and an MEd in special education, autism and applied behavior analysis emphasis, from Texas State University. She is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst - Doctoral Level (BCBA-D) and serves as the coordinator for the applied behavior analysis programs at UND. Among many areas of interest, her research and clinical activities focus on (1) operantly conceptualized academic interventions for students with extensive academic and behavioral support needs in public schools, (2) interdisciplinary professional collaborations to support students with disabilities, and (3) educational and behavioral services provision for children with disabilities in rural and remote communities. She is always interested in discussions about applications of the Ethics Code for Behavior Analysts in interdisciplinary settings, including the identification and training of competencies for school-based behavior analysts. Her work supports the access of public school students with extensive support needs to the general grade-level curriculum, inclusive instructional settings, and evidence-based educational practices, in accordance with federal education laws.
