Biography
Ling Lo, native Taiwanese. As an active performer, Dr. Lo has been invited as a guest artist to present recitals at several universities including Purdue University Fort Wayne, Olivet College, Saginaw Valley State University, the University of Louisville, SUNY Potsdam, Schenectady County Community College, and the University of Kentucky. Additionally, Dr. Lo has served as a festival pianist for the Leonard Falcone International Euphonium and Tuba Festival, the Mid-West Regional Tuba and Euphonium Conference, Henri Selmer Summer Clarinet Festival, and The Potsdam Clarinet Summit. She has also worked for opera productions such as “Le Nezzo di Figaro”, “Dido and Aeneas”, “Princess Ida”, and “Street Scene”.With a strong passion for chamber music, Dr. Lo has formed several chamber groups that focus on both classical and contemporary repertoire, including a piano, violin, and clarinet trio sponsored by Verdehr Trio, Henosis Piano Quartet, Connexion Trio, and currently the Duo LoW with the focus on expanding repertoire for piano and low brass.
As a believer of music education, Dr. Lo participated in “Celebrating of Spectrum: A Festival for Music and Life” as program assistant from 2016 to 2019, a program for young autistic pianists. In 2017, she presented this program at the DOCTRID conference in Limerick, Ireland. She had previously served as instructor at State University of New York in Potsdam, Saginaw Valley State University, The Flint Institute of Music, and staff pianist at Texas A&M University – Kingsville. Dr. Lo is currently serving as Teaching Assistant Professor in Collaborative Piano at University of North Dakota. In the summertime, Dr. Lo spend time with her family and lovely puppy at New England Music Camp on fauclty as the chair of piano area.
Dr. Lo holds degrees from Michigan State University (D.M.A. Piano Performance/D.M.A. Collaborative Piano/M.M. Collaborative Piano) and Boston University (M.M. Piano Performance). Her teachers include Pavel Nersessian, Konstantinos Papadakis, Deborah Moriarty, and Zhihua Tang.
