Biography
Dr. Ersan is an Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering at the University of North Dakota (UND). He earned his Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering and Earth Sciences from Clemson University in 2017. Prior to joining UND, he held the position of Assistant Research Professor at the School of Sustainable Engineering and the Built Environment at Arizona State University. Dr. Ersan has accumulated more than 19 years of experience in the detection and control of emerging contaminants, specifically focusing on disinfection by-products (DBPs) and per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in water, wastewater, and water reuse applications.
He is the father of one girl and one boy. His favorite hobbies include hiking, camping, fishing, and cycling. He is also proficient in playing several instruments, including the clarinet, bamboo flute (nay), and guitar. He is a PADI certified scientific scuba diver.
