Biography
Dr. Mark Rerick came to UND as an assistant professor in the College of Education and Human Development in the fall of 2022. He earned his BS Ed from Valley City State University in English and Physical Education and both an MS Ed and EdD in Educational Leadership from UND. In addition to holding Secondary Principal and Superintendent credentials, he is a Certified Master Athletic Administrator. Dr. Rerick worked in K-12 education for 21 years as an English teacher, multiple sport coach, assistant principal, and athletic director. His primary professional interests are improving coaching techniques in educationally-based athletic programs, the longevity and effectiveness of leadership in youth athletics, and the relationship between behavioral economics and youth sports parenting. Dr. Rerick is the chairman of the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrator Association's publications committee and serves as a founding board member for the National Leaderology Association. He lives in Grand Forks with his three sons: Jackson (19), Quinn (16), and Jacob (7).
