Biography
Nathan Ellenson has a Master of Arts in Psychoanalytic Counseling degree from the Boston Graduate School of Psychoanalysis. Following this he completed a Two-Year Post-Master’s Fellowship Training Program in Psychotherapy. He is currently Licensed in the State of North Dakota as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and has his Supervisor Credential (LPCC-S).
Nathan has over 10 years of experience providing therapy with diverse populations and work experiences across the country. He values and honors the uniqueness of each individual person. It is important for Nathan to create a safe environment for individuals to be able to be their authentic selves in order to search for meaning and self-determination. Nathan draws from a variety of treatment modalities and believes in supporting the whole person. In meetings together, you can expect that Nathan will provide a strengths-based approach and will strive towards a collaborative process. He will seek to understand you and your environment from your perspective, will show you respect and genuineness, and will endeavor to foster a nonjudgmental and inclusive environment. Nathan will show empathy, compassion, evocation and support towards eliciting insight and working together towards the outcomes that you are seeking.
To note, Nathan has received additional training in CBT, DBT, EMDR, Motivational Interviewing, Family Therapy, and has a history of working with individuals who have experienced trauma, anxiety, depression, as well as co-occurring mental health and substance use.
