Biography
Bates previously worked at the SMHS Harley E. French Library as the head of reference and user education before moving to Bismarck to be closer to the Bad Lands and her favorite outside activities where she spent time accompanied by her German Shorthaired Pointer, Abraham Lincoln.
After working 25 years in the public relations industry, Bates' love of research brought her back to school where she earned her Master's in Information and Library Science. There is never a search she won't dig in to until the mystery is solved or every avenue has been explored.
As the Southwest Clinical Campus Librarian, Sandi focuses on assisting third and fourth year medical students, as well as residents and clinical faculty with using the online medical resources. From searching strategies, literature reviews, software tutorials along with evidence-based medicine and scholarly publishing options, she is ready to help with any information research projects.
