Biography
Sara Wiederholt, LMSW, is a licensed Social Worker with a Master of Social Work degree from University of Minnesota. She has worked in the homeless service field for over 20 years, with over 10 years of focus on behavioral health. Her work with those experiencing homelessness has been in a variety of settings and with a diverse client background. Sara began her career at the YWCA Cass-Clay Emergency Shelter holding numerous positions from case manager, Education and Employment Coordinator, and Assistant Shelter Director. Her work history also includes providing outreach, assessment, and engagement services to those experiencing serious mental health diagnoses at the Southeast Human Service Center. Her current work focus is Veterans who are experiencing homelessness at the Fargo VA Community Resource and Referral Center.
Sara has been an Adjunct Instructor for 10 years. She currently teaches SWK 255: Introduction to Social Work. Her teaching experience at UND also includes SKW 424: Generalist Social Work Practice with Individuals and Families. Sara has also been an Adjunct Instructor at Minnesota State University Moorhead. Her teaching experiencing at MSUM Social Work program includes Individuals, Group, and Communities & Organization’s. Sara has also served as a field instructor for several social work interns. Professional interest areas include trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing, housing first, and harm reduction.
