Biography
Saurabh Chimote is AD for Cloud & Cybersecurity for the Energy & Environmental Research Center (EERC), where he is responsible for researching, architecting, tracking, making recommendations, and implementing and executing new cutting-edge cloud, cybersecurity, software and data technologies, leading the organization in the areas of cloud computing, cybersecurity, machine learning, geographic information system (GIS), and web development. He leads the team on all aspects of cloud computing and advises the EERC on proper uses of cloud services. He serves as the web and database cloud services administrator and creates and executes policies on proper use of cloud services. He is also responsible for providing insights into the changing data storage and utilization requirements for the EERC and offering suggestions for best practice for data architecture and solutions. He also collaborates with the Information Technology (IT) group to suggest best practices for data policies and solutions. Other responsibilities include developing proposal scopes of work and budgets; maintaining and enhancing existing EERC systems; and evaluating system specifications and business requirements for clients while determining the most cost-effective solution. He develops products according to scope of work using agile methodology, programs data-driven web applications using the latest technology solutions and software, and leads developers through technical analysis, design, and construction of highly complex and scalable Internet application projects, ensuring compliance with development best practices and security policies.
He holds an Ph.D. in Energy Engineering at UND, M.B.A. degree and an M.S. degree in Information Systems from the University of Cincinnati, a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Information Technology (IT) from India, and a diploma in Computer Technology from the Board of Technical Education, Mumbai, India. Prior to his position at the EERC, he served as an IT Applications Analyst at the University of Cincinnati. Mr. Chimote’s principal areas of interest and expertise include architecting cutting-edge systems using the most relevant and effective tools and methodology to produce innovative, high-quality, technology-driven IT solutions that meet and exceed end user expectations.
