Biography
HEAD CATALOGER, 1971- : Catalog in all formats, with an emphasis on original cataloging particularly of serials, local materials, scientific materials, foreign language items as well as authority work. Administer the Cataloging Dept. and supervise seven full-time and several part-time staff. Coordinate workflow throughout the Dept. as well as with all other departments in the library and branch libraries. Train new staff and do continuing education for existing staff to maintain high standards of cataloging based on AACRII, Library of Congress and OCLC standards and interpretations. HEAD, ACQUISITIONS/BIBLIOGRAPHIC CONTROL, 1991- : Administer the Acquisitions and Cataloging Departments and supervise nine full-time and several part-time staff. Coordinate workflow throughout the Dept. as well as with all other departments in the library and branch libraries. Systems librarian for software implementation and training for the library's integrated online system. Oversee procedures and standards for data input for acquisitions, cataloging, and serials. Chief cataloger in all formats, using OCLCMARC, MARCIVE, AACRII, LCSH, Dewey, LCC, Sears, and other tools and standards. NACO participant.
