Biography
Burke Brunson is a Geoscientist at the EERC, where he oversees the development of geothermal resource models, performs regional geothermal resource characterization, and performs geophysical analysis of geothermal gradients and heat flow in a variety of geologic settings. He is pursuing a Ph.D. degree in Geology from UND. He holds an M.S. degree in Geology and a Geographic Information Science Certificate (GISc.) from UND. He holds a B.S.G. degree in Geology and a B.S. degree in Biology and Chemistry (dual major) from the University of Alabama. Prior to his position at the EERC, he served as a Graduate Teaching and Research Assistant with the UND Harold Hamm School of Geology and Geological Engineering, a Core Library Technician with the North Dakota Geological Survey, and a Mud Logging Analyst with Schlumberger, Lafayette, Louisiana.
Mr. Brunson’s principal areas of interest and expertise include geophysics, structural geology, geodynamics, general and practical geothermics, computational modeling, and data science.
