Biography
Dr. Enrique Alvarez Vazquez is an assistant professor in the biomedical engineering program at the University of North Dakota (UND). Before joining UND, Dr. Alvarez Vazquez worked as a computer systems engineer at the Center for Visual and Cognitive Neuroscience (CVCN).
Dr. Alvarez Vazquez has a BS in Electrical Engineering from North Dakota State University (NDSU), a MS in Telecommunications Engineering from ‘Universidad Politecnica de Madrid’, a MS in Electrical Engineering from NDSU, a graduate certificate (GC) in Software Engineering from NDSU, a GC in College Teaching from NDSU, and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from NDSU.
Throughout the years, Dr. Alvarez Vazquez has fostered various research interests in biomedical engineering specializing in advanced topics in digital/analog communications, embedded systems, computer programming, and systems design. Some examples of his work include computer-controlled vibrotactile and electrodermal stimulation devices for multisensory research, controlled-illumination enclosures for visual psychophysical research, and electromechanically actuated motion platforms for research requiring vestibular stimulation. His most recent interests include health informatics, digital health, and software engineering.
Dr. Alvarez Vazquez has an extensive publication record. He is proficient in many software languages. And has an always-challenging passion for engineering education.
