Born and raised in Juneau, AK. Enrolled member of Central Council of the Tlingit & Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska (Tlingit & Haida), also Tsimshian and Nisga'a.
Master of Science in kinesiology (biomechanics) from The Pennsylvania State University. Bachelor of Science in engineering physics (mechanical) from Whitworth University.
