Biography
Karina oversees the accreditation processes for the College of Education & Human Development, leads systematic assessment initiatives, and analyzes data to drive program improvement. Karina works closely with faculty and staff to ensure compliance with standards, enhance academic quality, and supports data-driven decision-making across the college. Karina started working at UND in 2009 and joined CEHD January of 2025.
Prior to joining CEHD, Karina was the Assessment & Accreditation Specialist in the UND Office of Institutional Effectiveness & Accreditation assisting the ongoing university-wide evaluation processes of Academic Program Review and programmatic assessment. Karina worked in Student Affairs with the Wellness & Health Promotion department. She originally joined the team in 2009 leading the nutrition program, including the Culinary Corner demonstration kitchen. At that time she also served as the Clinical Dietitian for UND Student Health Services. In 2011, Karina was promoted to oversee not just the nutrition programs, but all of the department's Wellness Programs. Since that time she has also held roles overseeing facility operations and department assessment. Most recently, Karina served as the Associate Director of Wellness Promotion where she provided direction and oversight for prevention, wellness education and outreach, and health promotion programs targeted towards students, faculty and staff. She remaind the assessment lead for the department.
Karina has also taught courses for the Nutrition & Dietetics and Public Health Education departments.
Karina is a native of Grand Forks and a graduate of the University of North Dakota. She obtained a Master in Public Health- Nutrition degree from the University of Massachusetts- Amherst. She is working towards completing her EdD degree in Educational Practice and Leadership at UND.
