Biography
Karrianna Iseminger, PhD, OTD, OTR/L, CHT is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Occupational Therapy. She earned a B.S. degree in Business Administration and Marketing from the University of Arizona, an occupational therapy doctorate (OTD) degree from Creighton University, and a doctor of philosophy (PhD) in Educational Foundations & Research from the University of North Dakota. Prior to joining the faculty full-time in 2019, she earned her certified hand therapist (CHT) credential and worked primarily as an occupational therapist in the hand therapy practice context. At that time, she also worked as an adjunct instructor for Creighton University teaching an upper extremity evaluation and intervention lab which is what sparked her interest in occupational therapy education. She currently serves as the Representative for North Dakota in the Representative Assembly for the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA). She also serves as the faculty advisor for UND's chapter of the Coalition of Occupational Therapy Advocates for Diversity (COTAD). Dr. Iseminger is grateful for the time in the classroom teaching and learning alongside students and enjoys collaborating on scholarly projects with students and community agencies.

Upper extremity rehabilitation – advanced clinical occupational therapy practice in hand therapy, psychosocial implications of upper extremity injuries/conditions, implementation and testing of interventions to address psychosocial implications of upper extremity injuries, ergonomics, work/industry programming
2. Health promotion – chronic disease self-management, the role of occupational therapy in the primary care setting
3. Cultural humility in healthcare professionals and diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility, and justice in the occupational therapy profession
