Biography
Kylie McDonald is currently a Teaching Assistant Professor in the Theatre Arts Department and Costume Shop Manager at the Burtness Theatre. She holds an MFA in Costume Design with a secondary in Lighting Design. Her areas of discipline include costume design, patterning, draping, historical pattern making, and costume crafts. She designed Silent Sky professionally at the Black Hills Playhouse in the summer of 2023 and loved every second of it. She has also designed wigs and makeup for the professional theater company Montana Shakespeare in the Parks which incidentally created her love for theatre at the age of 6. The UND productions she has designed include, Carrie: The Musical, Unnecessary Farce, Conference of the Birds, Wait Until Dark, and First Date: The Musical. Professor McDonald divides her time teaching, designing, and running the Costume Shop for the upcoming productions at the Burtness Theatre.
