Biography
Students in my courses learn to analyze organizations, think strategically, and apply management ideas to real cases and real-world problems. I welcome conversations with colleagues, students, and organizations interested in strategy, organization, entrepreneurship, case research, and management education.

Patrick Schultz helps students, scholars, and practitioners understand how organizations work—and how better organizing leads to better strategy, leadership, and outcomes.
Patrick Schultz is Suda Karnik Faculty Fellow and Professor of Management at the University of North Dakota. He teaches organization theory, strategic management, advanced strategic management, and leadership.
His work focuses on helping students and professionals understand how organizations are formed, interpreted, and designed to pursue meaningful goals. His research and case writing examine organizational legitimacy, strategic change, entrepreneurship, grit, ethical decision making, and emerging issues such as AI in management education and the public policy environment of the electric vehicle industry.
Professor Schultz is active in the Society for Case Research and has served in national leadership roles. His teaching emphasizes case-based learning, critical thinking, and the practical application of management ideas.
