Zarrina Azizova

Dr. Azizova’s research centers on the issues of postsecondary access and student success to understand and advance equity-driven educational practices and advising models for diverse college students. Drawing from critical social theory, her works examine the role of student personal agency as well as various forms of capital, institutional differences, and educational practices in student success outcomes. She advocates for comprehensive first-year experiences, identity-conscious pedagogies, emphasis on student agency development, and investments into proactive as well as developmental advising models.
