2025 Initiatives
Explore UIT’s 2025 initiatives that strengthened security, modernized infrastructure, and enhanced digital experiences across campus.

UND NetX: Elevating Connectivity
The NetX Initiative marked UND’s full transition to a Boldyn‑managed network, a major modernization effort made possible through strong collaboration across campus. The main reason for the transition was to contain the growing cost of maintaining a network that can adapt to the needs of our community. This initiative ensures that we future-proof UND to support our expanding student population, research activities, and technological needs.
By the start of the Fall semester, the impact was clear — help tickets related to network onboarding dropped by 94%, demonstrating dramatically improved reliability and a smoother experience for our campus community. NetX positions UND for long‑term scalability, stability, and innovation.
My UND App
A full rebrand of the My UND App was completed, with a refreshed look and feel of the app based on the data on student behavior when using the app. Since launching the refreshed version, app engagement has increased by more than 40%. The My UND App now serves as a true one‑stop hub where students can explore campus, stay connected, and engage with the UND community.
Adobe Enterprise Licenses
Enterprise licensing was launched in fall, giving all students, faculty, and staff access to Adobe tools at no cost. This new licensing scheme has provided the Adobe tools free of charge to our community to use it in the classroom and in the workplace.
CoPilot Collective
The CoPilot Collective launched as a campus pilot with 135 participants, offering early access to Microsoft Copilot in Microsoft 365. Through hands‑on workshops and practical training, participants explored real‑world ways AI can streamline daily tasks, enhance collaboration, and save time. They practiced drafting content, summarizing meetings, and generating insights from data, all while connecting across departments and contributing to UND’s broader AI and digital‑transformation strategy.
IT Governance
A structure was put into place to enable strategic decision-making, fostering transparency, collaboration, and accountability in technology prioritization. Since formalizing the process at the beginning of the year, the committee has approved 11 projects to move forward. Some of these are research focused, and others were university wide impactful projects such as the mobile credentials and space scheduling to move ahead with an RFP.
Bytes and Insights
Bytes & Insights launched in 2025 as a new learning series created by University Information Technology to offer bite‑sized, practical tech knowledge to the campus community. Designed to spark conversation and make technology more approachable, the series kicked off with its first session—Cyber Security Essentials—in July 2025 and set the tone for ongoing topics ranging from digital tools to data trends and AI. Each session was built to help attendees learn something useful in just 45 minutes while connecting with colleagues across campus.
