Research Registration
Research protocol registration involves documenting and submitting the detailed plan or research before its commencement. A research protocol safety review is a process where the potential risks and benefits of a research study are evaluated to ensure the safety and well-being of the laboratory staff and participants.
Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC)
IBC is a body established by an institution to review and oversee research involving biohazards, particularly recombinant or synthetic nucleic acid molecules.
Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC)
IACUC oversees and evaluates all aspects of the institution's animal care and use program.
Institutional Review Board (IRB)
IBC is a committee that reviews research involving human subjects to ensure it is conducted ethically and protects participants' rights and welfare
Office of Safety
UND and the Office of Safety require notification of all research activities performed on a UND campus that don't fall under IRB, IBC, or IACUC oversite. This process allows the University to be aware of what is happening on campus and provides us with information to identify and help mitigate potential hazards. Please complete the following form if you are conducting a research project affiliated with UND and not reporting to one of the committees listed above.
