Office of Risk Management & Insurance
The Office of Risk Management & Insurance is responsible for the preservation of the University's assets, both human and physical, by identifying, evaluating, and mitigating risks faced by the University.
The Office of Risk Management & Insurance responds to all property and liability losses, implements loss control activities and risk management policies, and maintains current value for buildings, contents, and moveable property.
Working in conjunction with the Office of Safety and Office of Emergency Management, leads the University Loss Control Committee, oversees the Enterprise Risk Management Committee, and reviews Event Approval Forms.
Items that the Office of Risk Management & Insurance oversees include:
- Liability coverage for UND; incident reporting for non-employee incidents (students and visitors)
- Property insurance for UND-owned or leased property; buildings, contents, equipment
- Risk Management coordination with ND Risk Management and insurance requirements
- Worker's Compensation coordination; ND WSI; employee incident reporting, including out-of-state, outside-of-the-US, and volunteer
- UND-related International Travel Forms Review and Worker's Compensation coverage review
- Employee Vector Solutions
