Traffic Regulations

Always yield the right of way to pedestrians
Maintain 6 feet of separation when passing pedestrians to avoid a collision
If unable to maintain 6 feet of separation, reduce speed to just above the average walking pace while passing
When operating on public streets, do so in the accordance with all North Dakota and Grand Forks traffic laws

Bicycles must always be parked in bike racks; bike racks are located outside most buildings and throughout campus
Locking bikes to trees, railings, or sign posts is prohibited
UND prohibits the use of bicycles inside University buildings, on any pedestrian ramps, loading docks and on rails
Adhere to any signs posted regarding the use and parking of non-motorized vehicles
Blocking any entrance or exit to a building is prohibited
Parking in an stairwell, hallway or any other location that violates fire and safety regulations is prohibited
Students residing in university residence halls or apartments should contact the Housing office for information on Housing specific bicycle policies

Operate under reasonable speeds
Operations resulting in potential hazard for persons or property is not permitted
Pedestrian areas include any walkway, sidewalk, crosswalk, plaza court yard, patio, play court, parking facility, loading zone, or any other University facility primarily used by pedestrians
