- B.S. Early Childhood Multicultural Education; UCLC teacher since in 2019
- I believe that each child is a unique individual who needs a secure, caring, and stimulating atmosphere in which to grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially. It is my desire as an educator to help students meet their fullest potential in these areas by providing an environment that is safe, supports risk-taking, and encourages a sharing of ideas. I also believe in giving children the opportunity to study things that are meaningful and relevant to one's life and interests. Developing a curriculum around student interests fosters intrinsic motivation and stimulates the passion to learn. When students have ownership in the curriculum, they are motivated to work hard and master the skills necessary to reach their goals.
Our children are learning like they do in a “classroom,” but they are part of a family that learns together.
Children joining a Preschool Family remain in this family with a consistent group of children and teachers. This allows each child to develop a sense of community and belonging as they learn how to get along with one another, and creating a sense of safety and security.
