Meal Menus

The University Children's Learning Center (UCLC) menu is created by a UND Registered Dietitian and approved through the ND Department of Public Instruction, Child and Adult Care Food Program. All food is prepared at Wilkerson Dining Services and brought to the Learning Center. At times substitutions are made, for instance if the bananas are not ripe Dining Services will hold onto our bananas and send us a fruit substitute.

If you would like to join your child for a meal, please see the Assistant Director about making a reservation.

Meal Plan Overview

Children between 18 months and 24 months of age will receive whole milk. Children 24 months and older will receive 1% Milk.

Children will receive a minimum of one whole grain product per day. Items in parentheses are the vegetarian substitution). 

  • Week 1 will be used for the weeks starting: January 9, February 13, March 20, April 24 
  • Week 2 will be used for the weeks starting: January 16, February 20, March 27, May 1
  • Week 3 will be used for the weeks starting: January 23, February 27, April 3, May 8
  • Week 4 will be used for the weeks starting: January 30 , March 6, April 10, May 15
  • Week 5 will be used for the weeks starting: February 6, March 13, April 17, May 22

Week 1

Monday

Breakfast:Cereal, oranges and milk
Lunch: Beef enchilada (black bean burger), veggies, Spanish rice, apricots,milk 
Snack: Graham crackers, blueberry yogurt, water

Tuesday

Breakfast: Oatmeal, fruit cocktail, milk
Lunch: Cajun chicken alfredo (veggie nuggets), steamed carrots, garlic toast, grapes, milk
Snack: Cornbread muffin, honey, milk

Wednesday

Breakfast: Scrambled eggs, toast, pineapple, milk
Lunch: Fish sandwich, tarter sauce (bean and cheese burrito), banana, UND cheese soup, veggies, milk
Snack: Blueberry muffin, milk

Thursday

Breakfast: pancakes with syrup, peaches, milk
Lunch: Meatballs and gravy, whipped potatoes (grilled cheese), dinner roll, corn, pears, milk
Snack: Whole grain wrap, hummus, water

Friday

Breakfast: Egg and cheese burrito, apples, milk
Lunch: Chicken provolone sandwich (bean and cheese burrito), veggies, pinnapple, milk
Snack: Mini bagels with cream cheese, apple juice

Week 2

Monday

Breakfast:Cereal, grapes, milk
Lunch: 1/2 Cheeseburger (black bean burger), ketchup, mustard, watermelown, milk
Snack: Cottage cheese, peaches, water

Tuesday

Breakfast: French toast sticks, pineapple, milk
Lunch:Cranberry chicken tortellini (cheese tortellini with spaghetti sauce), artichoke veggie blend, breadstick, apricots, milk 
Snack: Sun-dried tomato hummus with saltine crackers, milk

Wednesday

Breakfast: Cheese omelet, whole wheat toast, mandarin oranges, milk
Lunch: Grilled Cheese, green beans,tomato ravioli soup, cantaloupe, milk
Snack: Breadstick, pizza sauce, and milk

Thursday

Breakfast: Malt-O-Meal, apples, and milk
Lunch: Popcorn chicken(vegetarian nuggets),dinner role, Mac-N-Cheese, romaine lettuce, ranch dressing, pears, milk
Snack: Graham crackers, banana, water

Friday

Breakfast: Cereal, fruit cocktail, milk
Lunch: Wild rice meatballs (egg salad sandwich), veggies, garlic potatoes, dinner roll, broccoli cheese soup, applesauce, milk
Snack: Salsa Verde, tortilla chips, milk

Week 3

Monday

Breakfast: Biscuits and gravy, maderine oranges, milk
Lunch: Patty melt (black bean burger), artichoke blend veggies, ketchup, mustard, tomato soup, grapes, milk
Snack: Blueberry muffin and milk

Tuesday

Breakfast: Cream of Wheat, cantaloupe, milk
Lunch: Tater tot casserole, breadstick (bean and cheese burrito),brussel srpouts, banana, milk
Snack: Waffle sticks with syrup and milk

Wednesday

Breakfast: Scrambled eggs, toast, pears, milk
Lunch: Chicken taco, corn, (bean soft shell taco), veggie toppings, watermelon, milk
Snack: String cheese, creackers, water 

Thursday

Breakfast:  Cereal, peaches, milk
Lunch: Penne noodles, spaghetti sauce and meatballs, spinach salad with honey mustard dressing, cantaloupe, (grilled cheese), milk
Snack: Raisin bread, cream cheese, milk

Friday

Breakfast: Pancakes with syrup, fruit cocktail, milk
Lunch: Fish sticks, tarter sauce (egg salad sandwich), peas, dinner roll, mandarin oranges, and milk 
Snack: Cottage cheese, strawberries, water

Week 4

Monday

Breakfast: Cereal, grapes, milk
Lunch: Meatloaf (black bean burger), artichoke blend veggies,twin roll, UND cheese soup, pears, milk
Snack: Blueberry yougurt, banana, water 

Tuesday

Breakfast: Scrambled eggs, toast, manderine oranges, milk
Lunch: Tuna noodle casserole (bean and cheese burrito), peas, dinner roll, pineapple, milk
Snack: Pretzels, cheese stick, water

Wednesday

Breakfast: Oatmeal, apple, milk
Lunch: Teriyaki chicken, (veggie nuggets),brown rice, stir fry veggies,cantaloupe, milk
Snack: Jelly sandwich, milk

Thursday

Breakfast: French toast with syrup, fruit cocktail, milk
Lunch: Sloppy Joe (black bean burger on bun), veggies, vegetable soup, watermelon, milk
Snack: Banana Bread and milk

Friday

Breakfast: Turkey sausage pancake stick, syrup, applesauce, milk
Lunch: Chicken cordon bleu sandwich (grilled cheese), green beans, chicken dumpling soup, peaches, milk
Snack: Cheese stuffed breadstick and milk 

Week 5

Monday

Breakfast: Cereal, apples,  milk
Lunch: Turkey roast (black bean burger), mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, mandrine oranges, milk
Snack: Cheez-it crackers and milk

Tuesday

Breakfast: French toast sticks, honeydew, milk
Lunch: Cavatappi Bolognese (grilled cheese), breadstick, broccoli, pears,  milk
Snack: Cheese stick, Ritz cracker, water

Wednesday

Breakfast: Cereal, banana, milk
Lunch: Beef burrito (beand and cheese burrito), veggies, Spanich rice, grapes, milk
Snack: Apple cranberry bread and milk

Thursday

Breakfast: Malt-o-Meal, peaches, milk
Lunch: Pulled pork sandwich (veggie nuggets), carrots, UND cheese soup, grapes, milk
Snack: Animal crackers and milk

Friday

Breakfast: Cheese Omelet, toast, apricots, milk
Lunch: Cheese Pizza, green breans, peaches, milk
Snack: Goldfish crackers and milk
