Recognition Ceremonies
The Office of Human Resources and Payroll Services administers the Staff Recognition Luncheon on the Tuesday following Spring graduation. UND staff members are recognized for the major milestones of 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, and 45 years of service. Staff members recognized for 20 through 45 years of service are presented with cash in the amounts of $50 for 20 years, $100 for 25, 30, and 35 years and $200 for 40 and 45 years.
The Meritorious Service Awards are given in recognition of individuals who best reflect honor upon the University and community through a combination of job performance, relationship with associates, and the ability to relate their work to the missions and values of the University. $1000 Meritorious Service awards are given to employees chosen by the selection committee based on nominations submitted to Human Resources by employee’s at UND
The Ken & Toby Baker UND Proud Award , along with $1,000, is presented to a UND staff employee who, through extraordinary public service, has made lasting contributions to the external community, over and above the expectations of his or her regular University position.
Solicitation for nominations for these awards are generally in March each year. The nomination form with eligibility guidelines and instructions can be used to make a nomination.

Meritorious Award Information and Nomination Forms
All faculty, staff and students are encouraged to nominate a staff member for a Meritorious
Service Award to be presented at the Staff Recognition Luncheon. The University will
present Meritorious awards of $1,000 each and a UND Proud Award of $1,000 to staff
members.
The Meritorious Service Awards are given in recognition of individuals who best reflect
honor upon the University and community through a combination of job performance,
relationship with associates, and the ability to relate their work to the missions
and values of the University. $1000 Meritorious Service awards are given to employees
chosen by the selection committee based on nominations submitted to Human Resources
by employee’s at UND.
Eligible employees are UND staff employed on a regular basis and not in a probationary
status. Those not eligible for consideration include the president, vice presidents,
deans, associate and assistant deans, teaching and research faculty, the Human Resources
director and any award winners from the previous seven years (List of previous winners
for past seven years: Last seven years.) All members of the University community are encouraged to nominate eligible employees
for the awards.

The nomination form is now easier to complete and submit. Nomination forms may be completed and submitted online, emailed to UND.humanresources@UND.edu, printed and mailed to Human Resources Stop 8010 or hand-delivered to Human Resources, Twamley Hall, Room 313.
Nominations forms must be submitted no later than close of business on May 23,2019.
