Residence Hall Parking Permits
Find the right permit for where you live on campus.
Students living in the UND residence halls who wish to park on campus must have a valid annual parking permit. The residence hall permit allow vehicles to park on the UND campus 24/7 in their specified lot and 5 daytime access lots.
- Residence Hall permits are available for purchase starting July 30, 2025 at 8 a.m. CT
- Permits are valid August 16, 2025 through August 15, 2026
When parking on campus, look for signs to confirm that you are in the correct overnight zone for your permit.
Permits Still Available
The following On-Campus Student Parking permits are still available for the 2025/26 academic year:
- Princeton Overnight (Wilkerson Complex Residents)
- CFPAC SW Overnight Zone (Johnstone, Smith, University Place, and Wilkerson Complex Residents)
- Swanson Hall Residents who do not have a permit yet and need one, please call the Parking Office at 701.777.3551

Wilkerson Complex Residents
Brannon, McVey, Noren, Selke and West Halls
These residence halls are located on the west side of campus near Wilkerson Dining Center & Commons. Students assigned to these halls share the same designated residential hall parking lots and permit options. The permits offered allow 24/7 parking in the assigned residential hall lot and vehicles do not need to be moved unless directed by UND Parking Services or UND Housing.

Johnstone & Smith Residence Halls
These residence halls are located near the heart of campus assigned to these halls share the same designated residential hall parking lots and permit options. The permits offered allow 24/7 parking in the assigned residential hall lot and vehicles do not need to be moved unless directed by UND Parking Services or UND Housing.

Swanson Hall
Swanson Hall is located on the east side of campus next to the Memorial Union. Students living in Swanson hall have the option between purchasing a permit for the parking ramp or a nearby surface lot. Each permit allows 24/7 parking in an assigned lot, students do not need to move their vehicle unless directed by UND Parking Services or UND Housing.

Columbia Overnight
Valid for only the Columbia Overnight Permits. When parking on campus, if you have purchased the Columbia Lot Overnight Permit look for the sign to confirm that you are in the correct overnight zone for your permit. For detailed zone locations, view the residence hall parking map.
University Place
University Place located on the west side of campus near the Chester Fritz Performing Arts Center. Students living at University Place have the option between two permits. Each permit includes 24/7 parking in an assigned overnight lot, students do not need to move their vehicle unless directed by UND Parking Services or UND Housing.

Permit Cost Comparison
Residential Hall parking permits may seem like a large upfront expense, but when broken down over the academic year, they provide a convenient and cost-effective solution for on-campus living. All permits are valid for the year, even if you plan to only be on campus during the fall and spring semesters only.

Residential Permit Proration & Refund Information
Residential permits automatically prorates price on the 1st and 16th of each month starting on September 16, 2026.
Refund Eligibility
Refunds for residential hall are available for students who no longer need their permit during the academic year. The refunded amount will be based on the following criteria:
- Permits purchased and refunded before August 16, 2025 will be given a refund for the purchased price
- Permits purchased or refunded from August 16, 2025 to April 15, 2026 are eligible for a refund until April 30, 2026. Refunds will follow an established price proration and refund schedule.
- Permits purchased on or after April 16, 2026 will be refunded 50% of the purchased value if refunded within 2 weeks of the purchased date.
If you no longer need your permit, please contact UND Parking Services in writing with the following information:
- Name
- NDUS ID
- Date that you no longer need access
Once the refund request is received and processed, the permit will be deactivated and the vehicle(s) that the permit were associated with will no longer be able to be parked in the areas associated with that permit.
Daytime Access Lots

Look for this sign to know you're in the correct area.
All residential hall permits allow access to specific daytime lots between the hours of 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday to help with commuting across the campus at no extra charge. Daytime lots are the airport, Wellness Center, SMHS SW, EERC, and the James Ray S.
