UND Directory
Your Directory profile is likely the #1 result when someone searches your name online.
Directory Profiles
Each UND faculty and staff member, including Graduate Teaching Assistants (GTAs), automatically has a Directory profile populated with PeopleSoft data that is updated as employees join or leave the University.
Optional Profile Content
Profiles can be enhanced by including:
- Degrees and professional designations
- Education
- Office hours
- Professional headshot
- Website/vita links
- Biography
- Courses taught
- Publications and presentations
- Research/areas of interest
- Awards
All fields are optional, and content should follow UND writing standards unless otherwise directed.

- Click Submit Updates and your changes will be live.
Preferred Name
Adding a preferred name to your profile will override official contact information in the UND Directory.
Professional Headshot
Only professional headshots are allowed. Images that are not professional will be deleted without notice.
Recommended dimensions are 344 px wide by 412 px tall. Any image file type is allowed and images will automatically convert to .webp files. Images over 4 MB will not upload.
Headshot Days
Free professional headshot services are available to University faculty and staff (students are not eligible). Visit Marketing & Creative Services for a list of upcoming headshot days. Approved headshots taken by Marketing & Creative Services are uploaded to the Directory for you.
Update Your PeopleSoft Information
Different steps need to be taken to update different fields.
- Office phone numbers can be updated directly in PeopleSoft by logging into HRMS Employee Self-Service.
- Office addresses (entire department move) are updated by emailing UND.humanresources@UND.edu. If entire departments move, please send Human Resources a spreadsheet listing your department employees that includes employee name, EMPL ID, current department address and new department address, and phone number change, if applicable. If you are unable to run/create a spreadsheet of your department’s employees, request one from Human Resources.
- Titles must be changed through your department's HR representative by completing a Position Request/Change Form. Titles are limited to 30 characters in HRMS.
- Department or affiliation name changes must be made in PeopleSoft. Email Sharon Loiland at sharon.loiland@UND.edu to request a change. Include your department number, old department name, new department name, and reason for the change in the email. Please note that this will change all instances in PeopleSoft where your department or affiliation name is listed.
-
Email is your UND-issued email and cannot be changed per UND's email policy.
Be Found Online
Your UND Directory profile has a much larger reach than you think. The Directory is the second most-visited page on the UND website. Keeping your profile complete and current ensures your professional presence accurately reflects your contributions at UND while avoiding duplicate or outdated information across multiple websites.
Your Directory profile serves as a single source of truth that you control. Unlike personal websites or external profile platforms that may be difficult to find, the UND Directory is highly visible in search results and connected throughout the UND website ecosystem.
Profiles are linked from:
- Department, college, school, and research group websites
- Viewed by prospective students researching faculty
- Used by media seeking subject-matter experts
- Searched by researchers looking for collaborators
