People Listings
People listings are used to display lists and contact information of UND employees.
There are two types of people listings:
- People Listing Component - Employee data is automated, pulling a combination of PeopleSoft and UND Directory information. Lists can be by title, department and/or IDM.
- Manual People Listing Snippet - Curate your people list by manually adding contact information in each cell.
People Listing Component
Using the People Listing Component is preferred as components will automatically update as employees are changed in PeopleSoft and as they update their own profiles.
To add a people listing component to your page:
- Place the cursor where you want your people listing on the page.
- Select 'Choose Component' and add 'People Listing.'
Editing the Component
The component offers many variations to build the type of list you prefer. All fields are optional.
A combination of listing by Department and Dotted Identifiers (IDM) is possible, but the IDM employees will appear at the top of the employee list and not be alphabetized within the department list.
- Heading (H2) - Use this as an H2 on your page. If you already have a heading on your page, leave it blank.
- Departments - Include department name(s) to pull faculty, staff and GTAs. The department name must match exactly as it is in PeopleSoft. The list of departments is available in the department dropdown and the UND Directory search page.
- Dotted Identifiers - Add NDUS dotted identifiers (firstname.lastname) of employees you wish to include in your people listing. IDMs must be separated by comma.
- Exclude Dotted Identifier - List employee IDMs that you do not wish to include in your people list.
- Display Option - Select if you want Degrees/Designations, Photo or Specialty to display.
- Affiliation - Select if you want to display Faculty, Staff, or Graduate Assistants to display.
- Title Keyword Filter - Display people with specific words or parts of words in their title. Example: professor or lecturer.
- Order By/Then Order By - Determine the order your people lists display by position or name. If nothing is selected, the people list will be alphabetical.
Multiple people listings can be added to the same component. Select 'Add New Group' at the bottom of the component to add another list.
Manual People Listing Snippet
The Manual People Listing Snippet provides the most flexibility and control over what is displayed. However, because it is managed manually, it does not automatically update when employees join, leave, or change roles at the University.
Manually add employee headshot, name, title/department, specialty, email, phone and address into the snippet.
- Place the cursor where you want to add the people listing.
- Click 'Insert Snippet' and select People Listing (Manual).
- Add information into the table fields.
- Click Save.
Leave Unused Fields Blank
Do not modify the transformation table (delete table columns or modify column names) as this makes improvements to the table difficult and/or may require the list to be rebuilt. If you do not want to include information in one of the table fields, leave it blank.
Update Directory Information
